Infrared camera thermal scanning Our full home buyer inspections include the use of an infrared thermal image camera. Infrared cameras produce thermal images that may reveal issues hidden from our eyes that might otherwise go unseen with the naked eye. Some issues that an infrared camera can reveal are moisture leaks, overheating electrical, plumbing leaks, missing insulation, air leaks and more. In all cases, the condition needs to be present at the time of the scan in order to see it.
We include a 90 day limited home warranty with your home buyer inspection. This warranty provides peace of mind by covering the repair cost for various items installed and deemed working by your inspector at the time of the inspection. The warranty covers items such as plumbing pipes, electric wires and panels, furnace & AC,
We include a RecallChek report for home buyers inspections. The report advises you if the appliances have any recalls issued by the manufacturer and what the issue is, the contact phone numbers and repair being offered by the manufacturer.
Registered Home Inspector (RHI) Darren St.jacques is a Registered Home Inspector. In Ontario, the home inspection industry is completely unregulated. No experience, education or knowledge of building science or health and safety issues is required. Registered Home Inspectors (RHI’s) are members of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors (OAHI). RHI’s must complete a rigorous education process, submit reports for peer review and maintain an ongoing process of continuing education. RHI’s must complete 200 paid inspections before they receive their designation. Fewer than 20% of the practising home inspectors in Ontario are RHI’s.
Certified Master Home Inspector (CMI) Fewer than 42 inspectors in the province of Ontario hold this designation. The CMI designation signifies that the holder has completed singularly or in combination, a minimum of 1,000 inspections or education hours, has been in business for a minimum of 3 years, and has been vetted through a background check by local authorities.
