EcoENERGY Retrofit – Homes Program.
The ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program provides grants up to $5,000 to help homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient and reduce the burden of high energy costs. The Government of Canada has renewed the program from June 6, 2011, until March 31, 2012.

Aluminum wiring concerns
Aluminum wiring was mostly used as residential wiring approximately between 1960 to the late 1970's. This material has been linked to home fires and could pose serious potential safety risks if installed incorrectly. The concerns with this type of wiring are varied but real and should be taken into consideration if found by your home inspector. Below is a link to a notice published by the ESA (Electrical Safety Authority) that provides further information regarding this issue.
