EcoENERGY Retrofit – Homes Program.
The ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program provides grants up to $5,000 to help homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient and reduce the burden of high energy costs. The Government of Canada has renewed the program from June 6, 2011, until March 31, 2012.

Load Bearing Walls
Follow the above link as Contractor Bryan Baeumler explains how to tell for yourself if a wall is load bearing or not.
If you aren't sure though, don't hesitate to contact a qualified contractor, architect or engineer for assistance. Removing a load bearing wall improperly can have disasterous and very costly results.
